As a starting point for this evening, I thought it might be good to think about the coalition governments Big Society agenda and what it means to us and the arts/health/wellbeing agenda. Last October, I facilitated North West Frontier to showcase arts/health practice from across the region and Ill be arranging another event this October. Big Society may be a useful way of framing the next regional event.
On Tuesday this week, I spoke about some of my initial thoughts on the Big Society at the nalgao conference in Bolton and Id be happy to share these thoughts for about half an hour to kick start our discussions. Please email me at c.parkinson@mmu.ac.uk as soon as possible if you're interested in attending.
